Italian Plums Still Life

Italian plums, also called prune plums, are deep purple with a reddish blush and turn nearly black when fully ripe. They can be used in sweet or savory dishes. Ripen plums at room temperature, then refrigerate for several days.The worn, distressed board and wooden picnic knife add a provincial mood to the still life. Texture overlay by Kim Klassen.
